Keno Rules
Keno is very easy to play and the basics are same no matter how the casino is playing it. Before playing in any casino, it’s always a good idea to go to the Keno counter and pick up the free booklet outlining the payouts and house rules as the will differ from casino to casino.
To play, you need to pick up a Keno sheet that can be found all over the casino from the Keno counter, at the casino restaurants and there will usually be a Keno runner who hands out the sheets and runs them back. You can mark 1 -15 (up to 20 at some casinos) numbers on the sheet and then hand your sheet in, either to the runner or the counter. Bets usually begin at the $1 range. Your sheet will be entered and you will get back a printed ticket, much like a lottery ticket. Make sure the numbers are the ones you picked; once the game is closed, no changes can be made. Then once the game is closed, the numbers will start appearing on the Keno boards that can be found around the casino.
There are 80 numbers in the Keno bowl and of these 20 will drop at random. If enough of the numbers match your ticket, you will win. To know how many you need, you need to consult the payout table for the amount of numbers you picked. The more numbers you pick, the more numbers that you will need to match to win.
Important: You must cash out your winning ticket before the next game begins unless you are playing more than one game on a ticket but after the last game on the ticket has been played and before the next one. Some casinos will allow up to one year to collect but you need to play 21 -1000 games on a ticket but consult the rules first.
