Online Gambling: Roulette

Article written by Gary Baker

Remember those old James Bond movies where he visited an exotic European casino? Well, if he played roulette, he was playing a traditional casino table game that has it’s roots in 17th century France. Roulette is a popular game in places like Monte Carlo (located in Monaco). So, why not immerse yourself in that elegant European ambience by playing roulette online? Online roulette is a version of the popular casino game that’s exciting and fun. In this article, we’ll present some basic information about online roulette playing, including rules, strategy and how to make an online roulette bet.

Roulette is a table game where players play against the house, rather than against other players. The dealer in roulette is called the croupier. The croupier spins the wheel and manages the bets. The wheel for gambling on roulette online or in casinos differs in Europe and the USA. The European wheel has 37 slots numbered 0 to 36. The American wheel has 38 slots numbered 0 to 36 and also an additional slot numbered 00. Each player uses different color chips to prevent his online roulette wager from getting mixed in with other players’ bets.

In roulette online, there are 2 basic types of bets: inside and outside. An inside bet in online roulette wagering means that the player bets on which slot the ball will land in. An outside bet in online roulette gambling means that the player bets on odd/even, black/red or positional groupings of slots. Bets are placed on specific areas marked on the table. Then, the croupier spins the wheel and launches the ball into a slot located on the wheel’s rim. Players can continue to bet until the ball drops from its channel on the wheel into a slot. After the ball drops into a slot, the croupier marks the winning number on the on the table with the dolly. He clears the losing bets and pays the winning bets.

For a change of pace in your gaming, why not consider roulette playing online?
