The Hard Rock Casino has been a happening place and constantly on the cutting edge for the last 15 years. It is well known for its concerts, Rock n’ Roll theme clubs and will soon be known for its poker lounge. On August 21st, they opened their Poker Lounge and as they always try to be up on the next trend, they opened a concept that merges the feeling of a night club and a poker room. This lounge is tear drop shaped and cost over 30 million dollars. The Hard Rock Casino is located at the corner of Paradise Road and E. Harmon Avenue.
Inside you will find a full service bar that was designed by Zeff designs. It sports dark wood and large luxurious leather chairs with video poker terminals. You will also find 18 tables that are laid out with lots of room to spare. Each table has an automated card dealing machine made by Genesis. The Hard Rock is also planning on adding a satellite race, sports ticket booth and high denomination slot machines to the lounge in the future.
The Director of Poker Operations, Houston Waldie has said that there is not a game that they will not take the lid off. His goal is to provide any game that has a demand. Tournaments will include the sought after deep stack structured weekend tournaments with $540 and $330 buy-ins. The Hard Rock will also offer a wide variety of Sit-N-Go’s with buy-ins ranging from $65 all the way to $2,200. Waldie sees the Sit-N-Go’s as holding a lot of value for the casino and he plans on placing a strong emphasis on them. They also plan to offer games with a new twist such as a No Limit game with kills of 5X the small blind and other games with straddles.
The room has a 16 zone speaker system to pump out music for the player’s enjoyment. This system will allow for the music to be clear but not loud, so players can still enjoy the game. The goal is to offer a poker room that is upbeat and enjoyable for the players. This concept was conceived by the new owners and was in development for over a year before implementing.
