The Asian Poker Tour (APT) has signed up three top pros to be ambassadors to represent the APT. These three will symbolize the APT in future tournaments and promote the APT brand.
The three pros that were signed are Nam Le, Quinn Do and JC Tran following the APT Macau tournament. This agreement started with a bang when Nam Le won the PokerStars.net APPT Macau High Rollers event for a $474,358 US payout. To make things even better, Quinn Do also placed third in the same event for a payout of $153,846. Nam Le stated “I’m truly delighted to have won and so happy to have gotten my deal with the APT off to the best possible start.”
JC Tran is currently the highest ranked player by Bluff magazine in the power rankings. His total winnings to date are well over $6.7 million. His last victory was at the WSOP where he won first place at Event #49 for $631,170. This is his first WSOP bracelet.
The APT poker tour has expanded in Asia, and is succeeding in becoming one of the best tournament providers in the area. The APT is Asia’s largest and first poker tour. They are owned by gaming company AsianLogic which is a forefront online and land-based gaming company. Currently they are holding four events for 2008 but plan to expand to a minimum of six for next year. The four events for this year are at APT Philippines, APT Macau, APT Korea, and APT Singapore.
As Asia’s largest guaranteed prize pools, each tournament continues to grow in size as it attracts more pros and qualifiers from online satellites. The three new players have a lot of years of experience as poker players and as tournament specialists. These three are guaranteed to make waves at future tournaments as they work their way through the field of players.
