Online blackjack is one of the most popular games played on the Internet. The game is easy to learn and the rules and strategy are straightforward and uncomplicated. In this article, we’ll give some basic information about blackjack online and the best way to maximize your winnings.
Online blackjack playing is unquestionably the most popular online casino table game. To play blackjack online, the objective is to come as close to a total of 21 (based on the value of your cards) without going over. You play against a dealer, not other players, as in poker. Online blackjack wagering starts with a bet before the deal. Then a player received two cards face up. The dealer also receives 2 cards, one face up and one face down. A player’s option after the deal is to hit or stand, unless he is dealt 21 in the first two cards, in which case he wins immediately with a “blackjack.” To hit means to receive one or more additional cards. To stand means to not receive any further cards. The dealer is required to hit until his cards total 17 or higher.
Two interesting aspects of blackjack playing online are doubling down and splitting your hand. Doubling down occurs when a player has a strong hand and the dealer’s face up card is weak, meaning low in value. The player places an additional online blackjack bet when he believes his hand is strong enough to beat the dealer’s because of the number of hits the dealer will be required to make, based on the dealer’s low-value up card. When a player doubles, he receives only one additional card. A split hand occurs in gambling on blackjack online when a player receives two cards of the same value in his first two cards. Each card becomes the basis of a separate hand and a separate online blackjack wager. Experts have worked out the mechanics of when to hit, stand, double down or split. There are many charts available on the Internet to help players decide when to act. For example, if your hand totals 11 and the dealer holds anything but an ace, a chart will tell you to double down.
Online blackjack gambling is a fun way to sharpen your skills (and make some money). If you know when to take advantage of the rules to increase your winnings, you’re likely to succeed, especially when you have a strong hand and the dealer doesn’t.
